Pultneyville Yacht Club is a first class organization with great facilities in a lovely, park-like setting. We have both power and sail members, and slips to accommodate almost any size boat. We are a working club which helps to keep our fees reasonable. Our members come from all over the greater Rochester area and well beyond from Spencerport to Sodus. We have members whose homes are as far away as Canaseraga, Geneseo, North Rose, and Bloomfield.
Our club is family oriented. Several annual events target fun times for the youngsters. In particular the Poker Race is usually a dinghy race in the harbor involving fun with water guns, and more from the docks. The annual Pig Roast is an all-day event with fun and games such as sack races, and water balloon tosses. Our club calendar has the complete list of events, including the PYC Club Cruise, another noteworthy event.
We have an active racing program with members of all ages and skill levels. Some of the best racers are senior sailors who often make for very challenging competition. See the racing page for a complete list of Thursday night and weekend races. Our winners and crews are honored with trophies at the Annual PYC Fall Banquet.
Organized in the fall of 1943 and founded as Pultneyville Yacht Club in 1944, the purpose of the club was then the same as today. “A club dedicated to fellowship on land and good fun and sportsmanship at sea.” This year, 2024, marks our 80th year! While all PYC members value and honor our rich club as well as hamlet history, we look forward to our future with pride.
