YEAR/MAKE/MODEL:  1978 Cape Dory 25, hull # 630, “Caper”

REASON FOR SALE:  Purchasing larger cruising sailboat and now must part with this classic.

LOCATION:  Seneca Lake, Geneva, NY (fresh water only).

PRICE:  Reduced to $6,800.00, negotiable.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Interior cushions replaced in 2004; 2 salon berths for sleeping; 26” x 17” pedestal-mounted table, one overhead and two side mounted lights; port-a-pottie with privacy door and hanging locker, overhead light; V berth, with 2 side-mounted lights and overhead Lexan hatch; large icebox and sink; cockpit cushions.

CONSTRUCTION: Heavy hand laid fiberglass with internal ballast allows her to maintain a steady course in heavy winds; exterior teak, lovingly restored, in excellent condition (Sikkins Cetol Light finish).  Exterior and interior are in excellent condition and very clean.

SPECS: LOA: 24’10”; LWL: 18’0”; Beam: 7’3”; Draft 3’0”; Mast height above DWL 31 ½’; Displacement: 4,000 lbs.; Ballast: 1,700 lbs.

ENGINE: 1998 8 HP 2-cycle gasoline Evinrude outboard.

FUEL/WATER: 3 gallon (fits neatly in motor well with locking lazerette hatch); 24 gallons.

ELECTRICAL: 2004 12 volt marine deep-cycle battery (760 MCA/160 minutes reserve).  New navigation, mast and spreader lights.

ELECTRONICS:  Knot meter; Compass.

SAILS AND RIGGING:  Aluminum deck-stepped mast and boom (new wiring & deck connectors); all stainless standing rigging; 2 Barlow 15 single-speed winches; CDI FF4 Roller Furler (installed 2004); 150 Genoa modified by Haarstick Sailmakers for furling system (fair condition); mainsail (good condition), smaller jib also in good condition.  All sails original.  New boom vang included but not installed.

OTHER:  Bow pulpit of 1” diameter stainless; No aft pulpit; 24” high single safety lifeline system; Sturdy swim ladder with new deck brackets; 2 anchors; manual bilge pump; fire extinguisher; flares; paddle; boat hook, 4 PFDs; cabin screens & curtains; wooden cradle (fair condition); Dinghy manufactured by Skimmar Boats (300 lb. Capacity) in good condition. Recent survey (November 2001).
