What they say about us

PYC feels like it’s worlds away…but for us it’s only a 35 minute drive from the center of Rochester. A peaceful protected harbor that transforms your mindset immediately on arrival!

I have been a member since 1980. The many social events and working day promote camaraderie.  The harbor is very protected. There is always someone to give you boating advice and frequently hands on help. Many of my current friends I met at PYC.

Joan S. Papillon

During our more than 10 years as members at Pultneyville Yacht Club we have enjoyed not only the easy access to the lake and quiet nights on the boat but also the life-long friendships made with people sharing our interest in boating.

PYC is a great place for those that want to get out on the water.  If your idea of a yacht club is a place to take clients for drinks and dinner, well, it’s really not that sort of club–no bar, no restaurant.  But if you’d like to get to your boat and be out on the lake, it’s ideal.  There’s no river or bay to traverse; leave the harbor and you’re out there!  At a location roughly midway between Rochester and Sodus.  Enjoy it!

In 2005, I came across PYC as I was looking for a possible slip for a possible sail boat. The members were at the harbor getting their vessels ready for next weekends launch. I was shown a very reasonably priced Grampian 26 foot, sleeps 5 with a head and a galley. Also, I was told that they race every Thursday evening. And then the fun began. In 2012, I and 4 different crews, sailed all 5 Great Lakes in 80 days. I single handed 41 of those and really enjoyed the entire summer. For 2020, the plan is to sail into 40 different yacht clubs around Lake Ontario. The fun continues.
